Course Description:
Attendees will learn about the Standards of Practice for culturally competent care. Achieving cultural competence is a process that involves cultural desire, awareness, knowledge, skills, and encounters. As healthcare professionals, “practicing in culturally sensitive ways is of the highest importance.”
After attending this presentation, participants will be able to:
Increase in Cultural Competence: Desire, Awareness, Knowledge, Skill, and Encounters Improved cultural communication Improved relationships with culturally diverse clients and families Decrease in cultural conflicts
