Medicare 101 for Social Workers and Health Professionals

Presenter:  Shari Smith, MA, MPH, CSA

Course Description:

Medicare and Medicaid are very complicated.  Social workers that assist older adults in their homes, hospitals, skilled nursing facilities and elsewhere are often at a loss as to how to guide these people or even answer basic questions.   And, as the cost of these programs change every year, social workers should be proactive in reminding their clients to check their benefits to be sure they are adequately covered at the most reasonable price. This training will provide social workers with a working knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid and the Medicare Medicaid Assistance Program (MMAP), which provides 1:1, free and unbiased assistance to Medicare beneficiaries and their representatives.

Please be advised:  This is considered a “Live” presentation that will go towards your required “Live” CE credit/contact hours.  This session is being recorded.
